How to train your barking fellow

Dog, the most faithful animal on this entire earth could sometimes be deceptive in its behavior as far as its living conditions are concerned. It may also show unique traits in its attitude when it comes across people other than your house members. In these conditions, it is the responsibility of the pet-keeper or its master to show ways to its pet, how to behave in a neat manner, so that he learns things that enhance its personality, apart from not being problematic as far as other people and animals are concerned.

Dogs are generally easy to train, as they listen and follow the instructions of their master if they trust them. The masters have an upper hand on their pet if they, instead of shouting at them and showing cane, carry out the training techniques calmly and patiently, such that the animal loves it too. Here are some dogs grooming tips that help a dog lover to train his or her pet:

  • Give your dog a practical name, a one that it could hear, memorize and follow.
  • Start with the basic instructions of sitting down, standing up, running and shaking its paw. Observe the time your dog takes in learning these. If it is quick-eared, you would find it much easier to perform the job.
  • Teach it the basics of attending a toilet. If you are taking it to an open space, it’s well and good. But if it is at home, take him to the toilet meant for it. Slowly and steadily, it would recognize the place and start using it.
  • Take it outside to get it acquainted to the strangers and other dogs. Console him if he barks at them but do not shout at it. Instead, give a pat and cuddle it to keep it calm.
  • Dogs learn the tricks of bringing the thrown materials such as balls and sticks very easily. Try it out with your dog too, to get a healthier pet.
  • If you have a separate place assigned for it to sleep, take it there and pat it to sleep. In the course of time, it will start loving its sleeping place and would go there itself.
  • Reward your pet for every order it follows with some nice appetizers, so that he too feels the worth of following the instructions.
  • Train your pet in the early hours of morning when he is active after the sleep and has nothing in its stomach. Most dogs would doze-off or feel sluggish if you feed them before training.
  • If you are unable to cope up with your dog or if he is showing unique traits that instead of your repetitive actions, do not cease, immediately consult a professional or a veterinarian. It might need immediate attention due to some problem it has encountered in its body.

Teach him but also keep in mind that it is an animal that needs your love and care, and the same would only help while training it. Your harsh behavior could pose a problem for it and for others too.
